This old sandstone quarry, near Cala d’Hort, at the feet of tower ‘des Savinar’, is the place for walkers. The stone extracted from it used to be taken to the capital and to Sant Antoni by ship. The cut out cliff is shaped in stairs and platforms, some by the water, creating rocky pools of crystalline water here and there, composing altogether a breathtaking landscape. A small hippy community who used to live in a natural cave, named this place Atlantis. To reach the sea you must go down a very steep slope.
On the road between Es Cubells and Cala d’Hort as you reach a downward right turn with a view of Es Vedra, you will see a small road on your left that is signposted. Follow along this dirt track and you will reach a parking area that is used mainly for access to the defensive tower of Torre de Savinar on the cliff top. If you follow the trodden path to your left then you will pass several stone art works on the ground and discover the path that leads down to Atlantis.
