Es Vedrà is a small rocky island off the south western seaboard of Ibiza.
The island, which is 413 metres tall, is part of the Cala d’Hort nature reserve and lies off in front of Cala d’Hort beach in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. The island is uninhabited.
Es Vedra is considered a magical place shrouded in myths and legends, the most popular of which is that it is the third most magnetic spot on earth. Also many people claim to have seen UFO’s and mysterious lights around the islet.
There is no evidence of these myths and legends. What we know for sure is that Es Vedra has something magical and among the Ibizans there is no doubt about the attractiveness of this place.
To see the islet, we recommend going to one of the following spots:
- Cala d’Hort: The simplest place is Cala d’Hort, since the islet is located right in front of this beach (even is not the best beach of Ibiza)
- Torre des Savinar (Torre del Pirata): It is one of the best views of Es Vedra. However, you should wear a comfy shoes and be ready for a walk (15-20min from Es Vedra viewpoint).
- Es Vedra Viewpoint: Its main advantage is that you will not need to walk hardly and the views are still impressive.
- Cap Llentrisca Viewpoint: The path is very complicated. Also, the views are much more distant than in the previous viewpoints. However, tranquility is guaranteed.
